Parents/Guardians, Students at Metepenagiag School are now using Mathletics as an important part of their math curriculum. Students will have access to the Mathletics website throughout the week during class, and also at home if there is a computer or iPad available to them. Students were sent home today with a unique username and password for them to login. Mathletics is a web based learning program that integrates home and school learning via the internet; it is one of the worlds most used educational websites. As an online learning resource it is the next generation in learning, helping students enjoy math and achieve outstanding results. If you have access to the internet I recomment you spend some time looking at the website with your child so you can gain an understanding of how Mathletics will benefit his or her learning. As a parent/guardian you can sign up to receive Weekly Reports! These reports will provide you with details on your child's progress and achievement. To register for this service:• Visit• Complete the fields and click Register To access the Parent Center:• Visit• Sign in using your own details

I'm very excited to be back at Metepenagiag School this year as the Grade 3/4 homeroom teacher! I also will be teaching your child Math, Physical Education, Health, and instructing the Read 180 program with Miss Rubidge. The staff and students had a great first day back, and were eager to see some old classmates along with some new faces this year! Your child has brought home various information letters and slips, some of which are to be sent back. Please make sure to sign any permission slips and bring them back with your child ASAP. Thank you for your cooperation! Ms Watling

Just a reminder that the school will be having their first STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics - Expo tomorrow, Thursday May 29th from 6pm - 7pm. This is a time for your family to visit the school and explore student (from grades 3 - 6) projects using an iPad. The iPad will link each project with a student video explaining the project. This new and innovative STEM Expo is a must see!    In addition, the STEM Expo will be an opportunity for families to explore a variety of fun engineering and science-based activities with members of their family. Unlike Family Literacy and Math Night where students travelled around from class to class with their classmates; the STEM Expo will have all activities in the gym and there is no structured time limit. Families can visit the STEM Expo, explore student projects, and complete fun activities for as little or as much time as they like, between 6pm & 7pm. Refreshments will not be served due to the technology equipment and student work being displayed.     The students are very excited to share their innovative and cutting edge STEM Expo. We hope to see you all tomorrow!
