September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually, in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and wellbeing, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.
We are starting the year with a few interesting changes that research shows will increase students learning! We are extending the school day to offer students help in areas of need or to challenge students in areas they excel!
Class Dojo connects teachers with students and parents to build amazing classroom communities. Class Dojo creates a positive classroom culture, gives students a voice and allows students and teachers to share special learning moments with parents.
The 2nd Metepenagiag Talent Show - Thursday, May 26th from 6pm- 7pm.
If your child has an interest in singing, dancing, gymnastics, acting, drumming, martial arts, playing an instrument, etc. please remind them to be practicing at home. Students will have the opportunity to practice at school, but the bulk of their practice time will be at home.
Students from grades K5-6 will be attending the N.S.E.R Annual Powwow Wednesday, April 13th from 1 pm – 3 pm.
Parents/Guardians and family members are invited to attend this event, if your child(ren) has regalia, please send it with him/her to school that morning.
The bus will be leaving the school at 12:20 pm and will be departing from the high school @ 3pm along with the high school students. Should you wish to have your child(ren) travel home with you, please notify the school.
Metepenagiag Family Math Night Thursday, February 11th. From 6 to 7:30pm. Bring your Mom, bring your dad, bring your uncle, bring your auntie, bring your grandma, bring your grandpa, BRING YOURSELF to Family Math Night! There will be over 16 fun math activities in 5 different classrooms. Plus there will be giveaways! Family Math Night BE THERE!
