October 4th is a day where we honour the lives of missing Aboriginal women and girls. The violence experienced by Aboriginal women and girls in Canada is a national tragedy. 

We are honouring these women by fostering awareness and participating in a whole school moment of silence.

Monday October 3rd we celebrated our monthly Attendance & Achievements with a ceremony, including a special performance by Ms Britten's literacy group; 'How Glooskap Found Summer' .

Tuesday October 4th we will be taking a school field trip to McAllister Farm. We will leave the school at 11:30am and return by 2pm. Students will learn how apples grow, get to pick their own apples & enjoy a hay ride. 

Student Admission is paid by the school. **Family are welcome to join, however will need to meet us at the farm (12 noon) & pay own admission.

September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually, in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and wellbeing, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.

We are starting the year with a few interesting changes that research shows will increase students learning! We are extending the school day to offer students help in areas of need or to challenge students in areas they excel!

The new bus schedule is:

 

K4       11:30am - 2:30pm

 

K5-2    Morning bus pick up between 8 - 8:15am

           Afternoon bus drop off at 2:15pm

 

3-6      Morning bus pick up between 8 - 8:15am
