R.J. will receive his award at the Rodd Inn on Thursday May 19th as part of the District 16 Turnaround Awards.

The learning community at Metepenagiag is pleased to announce that we now have a portable Macintosh Computer Lab. We would like to thank our friends at FNEII and the First Nations Help Desk for funding this major purchase. In addition our building now features wireless internet. Further to that, we are adding phonic ear systems to all our classrooms!
On May 14th, girls from Grades 5 and 6 will be attending the Go Girl Festival at the Golden Hawk Recreation Centre in Miramichi. This day long event is sponsored by the city of Miramichi, Horizon Health, School District 16 and other government partners. The Girls will leave at 8:30 am and will be back before the school day ends. Feel free to contact Mr.Hutchison if you have any questions.
Metepenagiag School will be closed on Friday May 6th as Staff are attending Professional Development. Please note Thursday May 5th is a regular School Day at Metepenagaig!
Metepenagaig School will be hosting a Mother's Day Social in the Library on Wednesday May 4th at 1:00 pm. The students will have a presentation for all Mothers and a special gift will be given to each Mom or Grandmother that attends. We look forward to seeing you all!

There is no school for Metepenagaig Students on Friday April 22 and Monday April 25. The School is closed for Easter. Regular classes resume Tuesday April 26. Happy Easter everyone!
In order to better support and provide our school website, the final phase of work needs to be done This work is currently scheduled to begin around 3 PM on Friday April 15. This upgrade requires that all school websites be offline while changes are made. At this time we cannot say how long the work will take but the school website maybe offline until Saturday.
The
Miramichi Kinsmen and School District 16 are pleased to accept film
entries for the first annual Kin Film Festival. All School District 16
students are invited to participate. Films can be submitted in one of
two categories: Open and The Kinsmen Category. The top 10 films in each
category will be screened on May 7th, 2011 at Miramichi Empire Studio
5. Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded for the winners
in each category.
