On February 23rd, Metepenagiag students and staff will be celebrating Bully Awareness Week by wearing a pink shirt. Pink Shirt Day began in Nova Scotia where two students stood up to bullying in their high school. A male student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. These students showed their support for him by buying pink shirts and encouraging other students to wear them. Click on Image Galleries to see us in pink!
Tuesday Feb 15th is “Literacy Day”; students are encouraged to dress up as a Character from their favorite book on this day. Characters in Robert Munch books are usually a fun and easy way to dress up without having the large expense. We will also be having Patricia Knockwood from the Bookmobile to visit the students and do a presentation for the kids. Guest readers will be coming in that afternoon to read to our students.
Monday is Red and White Day! Wear Red, White or both! Students will exchange Valentines in the afternoon.
Our King and Queen draws will occur in the Morning. Remember ..this week is HOMEWORK FREE for Students.
