Wednesday October 19th, grade 5 & 6 students had the opportunity to learn about Moose Hunting. It was not compulsory for students to attend, only the students who chose to, attended.
Ronnie, Roman & Darwan were generous enough to take time out of their day to talk to students about the importance of hunting for food, ethical Moose kills, the respect we pay to Mother Earth with Tobacco offerings after we kill an animal, different parts of the animal and their uses.
The moose was already cleaned in the woods, students were going to learn how to skin the animal, however with the outdoor temperature was too warm this morning.
Students were thrilled to have an opportunity to learn about Moose Hunting part of their Mi’kmaq culture.
